From the Principal
Dear Parents and families,
We welcome the following new staff members to our school community:
Miss Mollie Hills who will be working in Year 3 LA 25 Monday to Thursday (Ms Tamara Dominy will be in this room on Fridays and working in her Mathematics Support role from Monday to Thursday).
Mrs Megan Mileham will be backfilling Mrs Hannah Kelly’s position in LA 4 until the end of the year. Mrs Kelly will be on Maternity Leave.
Ms Amanda King (Education Assistant Mainstream) who will be working in LA 3 on Fridays.
Miss Rebecca Lohoar (Special Needs Education
Miss Aimee Redmond (Special Needs Education Assistant).
If your child becomes an asymptomatic close contact, due to a person in your household being COVID-19 positive, they will no longer have to isolate for 7 days. They will be required to:
- do a daily Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and receive a negative result each day to attend school
- wear a mask at school (for students in Year 7 and above) and when travelling on public transport or ride-share.
An additional supply of RATs will be supplied for all students and staff. We will let you know when you can collect the free RATs the state government is providing for all students. In the meantime, if your child becomes symptomatic or a household close contact, please contact us.
School activities are resuming with assemblies commencing in the later part of this term. We will also continue to follow COVID-19 safe measures:
- all staff and regular workers (including regular volunteers) at school are double dose vaccinated (third dose vaccinated within one month of being eligible).
- adequate ventilation in each classroom, in line with health advice.
- enhanced cleaning remains in place.
If your child becomes symptomatic they should stay home and be tested for COVID-19. Refer to for information on close contact definition, testing and isolation requirements. You should notify the school if your child tests positive for COVID-19.
Legends of Landsdale- Cross Country
The annual Faction Cross Country event will be held this Friday, May 6 (and the weather looks perfect at this stage). This is a whole school event for students in years 1-6 and will be held during different times for each year group. The program along with parent information has been sent out to parents. We look forward to having parents and spectators back to cheer for our students.

Foster Care Information Session
Children require a safe place to live. At times, for a variety of reasons, living with family is not the safest option for all children. Department of Communities, Mirrabooka District, is seeking motivated, caring and nurturing adults who may be willing to attend a local information session to hear about becoming a foster carer. Foster carers often tell us that making the decision to help vulnerable children and young people and providing them with a loving home has been one of the best decisions they have ever made.
There are a number of foster care options available. Some are long term, full-time arrangements while other foster carers provide support for short term or short break placements. Foster carers come from all walks of life. You may be single, partnered or married, with or without your own children. As a foster carer, you would be supported by a dedicated Placement Officer.
Interested applicants would need to attend a fostering information session. We have sessions that will occur at the Mirrabooka District office and the Herb Graham Rec Centre in Mirrabooka on the following dates:
Information Sessions – 2022
Tuesday 5th April - 10am – 12pm - Mirrabooka District
Saturday 28th May 2pm - 4pm - Herb Graham Recreation Centre
Tuesday 14th June – 6pm – 8pm – Mirrabooka District Office
Wednesday 21st September – 10am – 12pm Mirrabooka District Office
Saturday 22nd October – 2pm-4pm – Herb Graham Recreation Centre
Mirrabooka Office : 5 Milldale Way, Mirrabooka
Herb Graham Recreation Centre: 38 Ashbury Crescent, Mirrabooka

April Holiday Loans
Can you please check that your child has returned their library books from last term and holiday loans. Thank you.
Mother’s Day Stall
Thank you to Ms Mel Fuller and the P&C Committee for organising and running another wonderful Mother’s Day Stall in the Library. The children were able to select some lovely gifts for their Mums. Happy Mother’s Day to all our Landsdale mothers and grandmothers.
EALD Family Resources Information
Welcome to Bilingual Families Perth
Bilingual Families Perth is a not-for-profit network of linguistically diverse people in Western Australia.
Our network connects over 500 families and individuals from more than 40 language backgrounds. In the past 10 years we have provided support for families who speak Afrikaans, Bengali, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Farsi, Finnish, French, German, Gujarati, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Macedonian, Malay, Malayalam, Mandarin, Mongolian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Samoan, Serbian, Spanish, Swahili, Swiss-German, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Turkish, Vietnamese besides various dialects of the relevant languages.
Most families have pre-school or school-aged children and we are experiencing similar issues while raising our children in more than one language. We also work together with professionals who share information on bilingualism and multilingualism. We can probably put you in touch with people who speak your language.
P&C Meeting – Change of Date
Please be advised that the date of the next P&C meeting has changed. The new date is Wednesday 11th May at 7.30pm in the staff room.
P&C News - Mother’s Day Stall 2022
We are back! Mother’s Day Stall is on this year – Thursday 5th May (and Tuesday 3rd May for Kindy A rotation). We are very excited about the Stall this year and we know how much the kids love coming to do a bit of ‘shopping’, so make sure students bring along $5 to buy your Mum, Caregiver or special lady in your life a lovely gift for Mother’s Day. We will also have cards this year for $1.00 (Limited Stock).
We are also still looking for volunteers to help on the day, if you’re interested, check out this sign up zone -

Kiss & Drive Announcement
After having remarkable success in 2021 with the new rostering system for our Kiss N Drive Program, we are continuing the program into 2022 and kicked off Term 1 with a bang!
Each Term has designated year groups for parents to volunteer for a session to help Kiss N Drive on that afternoon. Parents can forward plan their session into the year and change as required. The roster updates in real time which makes changes immediate thus allowing the roster to look after itself. A link to the roster is below.
As a thank you at the end of each term a raffle will be drawn to win one of two $10 vouchers to be redeemed at our fabulous canteen. Each time you volunteer, you gain an entry into the draw. And do not forget, you also have the use of a staff car park on the day you volunteer for Kiss N Drive.
Finally, a big Thank you to all the parents of Years 2 and 6 that contributed to the safe and smooth running of Kiss N Drive in Term 1 of 2022 and congratulations to Rebecca and Deanne each of whom are the winners of a $10 canteen voucher, woot, woot!
Over to the parents of Years 1 and 5 to make Term 2 a success. Sign up using the following link:
Want to volunteer but unsure of what is involved? Drop us an email to join us for a training session to see how easy it is!

It’s Term 2 and with it comes our Winter Menu! Stuffed spuds are back as well as soups and we have now a soup item for teaching staff to enjoy a slice of garlic bread.
Wednesday Specials are available to order via Qkr and advertised on the P&C FB page the Sunday prior around 10am so please watch out for these!
Mid-Term Sausage Sizzle is on for week 7 and we will hopefully be holding an Election Sausage Sizzle on the 21st May so come and support us!
Emergency lunches happen from time to time and we will never let a student go hungry. If your child comes home with a note from the canteen, the amount can be paid cash the next day or on Qkr via the accounts to pay menu.
